1/2 cup chopped onion | 1/4 cup butter or margarine |
1/4 cup flour | 1/2 tsp dry mustard |
1/2 tsp salt | 1/8 tsp pepper |
2 1/4 cups milk | 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
4 cups thinly sliced pared potatoes | 1 lb (about 2 cups) ham, cut into large chunks |
Cook onion in butter in large saucepan until tender Blend in flour, mustard, salt, and pepper. Gradually stir in milk, cook and stir over medium heat until sauce thickens. Stir in cheese. Arrange potatoes in a greased 12x8x2 inch baking dish. Top with ham and pour sauce over all. Cover with foil and bak for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer |
